Our initial plan for this year’s tour was a return to some of the big Alpine passes in and around Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. Some very unsettled weather soon put paid to this. We’ve been stuck in Chamonix under a low-pressure weather system before and experience has taught us to just find somewhere else to ride because it probably isn’t going to clear anytime soon. In the end we settled on Annecy and it was a stroke of genius because apart from a torrential downpour for an hour in the UK on the way to the tunnel, we had a dry trip with plenty of sunshine.
So for our fifteenth tour it would be Phil Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE, Taj Kawasaki ZZR 1400 and Kyle Kawasaki Versys 1000 LT. Our 7 day trip would see one of us at least ride 9 mountain passes and roads, and cover 1,800 miles.
