For the first time in 8 years of touring in Europe we didn’t have a plan this year. It wasn’t that we’d run out of ideas although it would be fair to say that we had toured fairly extensively since our first tour to Chamonix Mont-Blanc back in 2006. It was more a case of the uncertainty there was even going to be one and more to the point, Kyle’s unavailability until the end of September.
With the exception of Andy, who was suffering from a hernia sustained last year, this year’s line-up was unchanged and so, for our eighth tour, it would be Phil BMW K1300S HP, Gaz Honda Blackbird, Taj Kawasaki Z1000SX, Kyle Suzuki GSX-R1000 and Cat Yamaha V-Max. Our 10 day trip would see us ride 16 different mountain passes and roads, and cover 2,500 miles.
