The Col des Saisies links Flumet with Beaufort via the D218B. It passes through a number of ski resorts and has some pleasant views. It’s been used by the Tour de France a few times and was the scene of Floyd Landis’ famous breakaway on stage 17 of the 2006 Tour where he rode at the front for 75 miles and finished over 6 minutes ahead. Unfortunately, as we now know, he was partly fuelled by excess testosterone, was found guilty of doping and stripped of his Tour title.
