Oberalp Pass – 2,044m

Route: Route 19 Andermatt to Disentis (20 miles)

Coordinates: 46.6586849,8.6712489

Ridden: 2006 & 2009

The Oberalp links Andermatt with Disentis. At the Andermatt end the pass starts immediately you leave the town, next to the cog railway. The road then follows the railway fairly closely until you reach Disentis. This is a very good biking road with well surfaced and wide sweepers. The river on the right of the road is the Vorderrhein – one of the two main tributaries of the River Rhine – the source is at the Tomasee – a small lake off the road to the right near Piz Badus.
