Col de Vars – 2,108m

 

Route: D902 Barcelonnette to Guillestre - 46 miles

The D902 connects St. Paul sur Ubaye with Guillestre and takes you from the Ubaye valley to the Queyras valley via this Col. Both ramps are nice to ride although when we rode it the southern ramp was undergoing a lot of resurfacing. In typical French fashion this seemed to involve throwing a lot of loose gravel over the road. The northern ramp is nice with a particular good section down to/up from Guillestre - a good section for those with knee down capability.
