Cime de la Bonette – 2,802m

Cime de la Bonette
Route: France D2205 & D64 St. Sauveur Sur Tinee - Jausiers 48 miles

Ridden: 28/06/2008

Technically speaking this is not actually a pass. Once you reach the top of Col de la Bonette there’s a turn off to a teardrop shaped loop road, a little over a mile long, which runs around the Cime de la Bonette peak (2,860m). It's this road that reaches an altitude of 2,802m but it's really just a scenic road and not a pass. It is however the highest asphalted road in France, and it's also the highest through road in Europe.

If you’ve ridden up to the Col and managed to catch a clear day, make the effort to ride this scenic loop road because the view from top is spectacular.
